CRACKER JACK CO. ADDS TO HOLDINGS

Plant Of Shotwell Manufacturing Co. At Arthur Acquired By Owners Of Local Plant.

John J. Roche, manager of the Cracker Jack plant in Odebolt, informs The Chronicle that his company has bought the plant of the Shotwell Mfg. Co. at Arthur. The Shotwell people have been manufacturers of Checkers, and this will now be added to the list of confections that the Cracker Jack Co. have been manufacturing for many years.

The Cracker Jack Co. is now prepared to serve the public with Cracker Jack, Chums and Checkers as well as the more fancy candies which they put out. The personnel of both the Odebolt and the Arthur plant will not be changed. John Nickelson will be in charge of the Arthur plant, as he has been in the past.

The plant at Arthur consists of a fine elevator, storage tanks and several cribs. A large crib was built last season. The plant is in excellent condition and was newly painted last season.

Odebolt is rightly claimed as the popcorn center of the world, a fact in which we justly take pride. These additional facilities for handling this world famed product will increase our standing in this regard.

This is an important business transaction, in which a large amount of money is involved.
