Join the Pottawattamie County Genealogical Society!
No
matter if you are a beginner or a seasoned veteran, the PCGS is
dedicated to helping you gather, compile and preserve your genealogical
data and family history.
We
hold our annual potluck meeting in November, and quarterly potluck
meetings in February, May and August, which may include lectures by
historians and genealogists. All meetings are held in the Frontier
Heritage Library Community Room.
We
are also involved in many projects relating to the gathering and
preservation of genealogical and historical data on the ancestors,
founders and early settlers of Pottawattamie County.
PCGS membership benefits include:
- Free access to the public areas of the Frontier Heritage Library (during open hours).

- Four quarterly newsletters per calendar year.
Now is the perfect time to become a member of the PCGS. Just print out the application
and send it with your dues today! Annual dues are $20.00 for
individuals and $25.00 for families. Make checks or money orders
payable and send to PCGS, P. O. Box 394, Council Bluffs, IA 51502-0394.
Ancestor
Certificates are available for those whose ancestors lived in
Pottawattamie County in 1870 or earlier, 1885 or earlier and 1905 or
earlier. Contact the Society for applications.
