Join the Pottawattamie County Genealogical Society!
No matter if you are a beginner or a seasoned veteran, the PCGS is dedicated to helping you gather, compile and preserve your genealogical data and family history.
We hold our annual potluck meeting in November, and quarterly potluck meetings in February, May and August, which may include lectures by historians and genealogists. All meetings are held in the Frontier Heritage Library Community Room.
We are also involved in many projects relating to the gathering and preservation of genealogical and historical data on the ancestors, founders and early settlers of Pottawattamie County.
PCGS membership benefits include:
- Free access to the public areas of the Frontier Heritage Library (during open hours).
- Free ancestor charts.
- Four quarterly newsletters per calendar year.
