Cemetery

linegreen.gif (1029 bytes)

Memorial Park Cemetery is one of the newer cemeteries in Council Bluffs and was originally founded by the Cutler family. It is located on the rolling Loess Hills on the east side of the city. Access can be gained by entrance through the main gates located on McPherson Avenue or the side entrance at the top of Keeline Drive.

The only monuments allowed on the grounds are those placed there for commemorative purposes; all others are ground level stones used to mark burial sites. This practice was adopted in later years to facilitate easier care of the cemetery.

The cemetery is maintained and managed by the staff of Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 1350 East Pierce Street, Council Bluffs, IA, 51503.

We'd love to put Memorial Cemetery online, but it is HUGE, with thousands of "residents."  For information about this cemetery or pictures of headstones here, please email us for assistance.  Thank you.
