8. I'm looking for some photos that were of the Employees of the Council Bluffs Streetcar barns. My grandfather retired from the street car company in the mid to early fifties. There were pictures of his retirement as well as group pictures. The last I know of them was that an uncle of mine had given them to a Wimpy's Tavern that was across the street from the streetcar barns, bothing being on 28th and Avenue A. My grandfather's name was John Riley Eledge. He and my grandmother lived and raised their family on 27th and Avenue A. Talk about living close to work!! If anyone knows the loctaion of or any information about these or like photos, please contact me. Bret Riche
9. Found: A picture of either Henry or Charley Drinkirth, taken at Schmidt's Photographic Studio in Council Bluffs. The picture was found in an antique shop in California. Henry Drinkerth lived in Council Bluffs in 1910. This date is compatible with the clothing worn by the man and when the studio was in operation.

If you know to whom these books belong, contact Diane.
12. A family member has a large "family tree chart" for the Lembke family. This family tree was filled out on a standard form by unknown person(s) on unknown date based on unknown sources. Right half of form is missing, but no names are affected by this lack. Most recent date entered is a death in 1980. No place names are listed but some family members are known to have married in Iowa. One of the names included is George Edward Lembke m. Ethel Easter Palmer. I find an Ancestral File at the LDS site for:
George E. Lembke (AFN: 1ZJQ-129) [no parents on AF, Family Tree says Charles John Frederick Lembke and Anna Barbara Eggiman] m. Ethel E. "Ethie" Palmer (AFN: 1K2X-LX5) [parents: Ephriam Palmer (AFN: 1K2X-LTJ) & Eliza I. Buckner (AFN: 1K2X-LVQ) none listed on Family Tree].
All the dates included that these two share agree...the AF states that this couple is buried at Wheeler Grove, Pottawattamie County, Iowa and that a son named Orlan Palmer Lembke (AFN: 1ZJQ-15W) d. 16 Oct 1943 at Italy is also buried there on 24 Nov 1948. This agrees basically with the family tree [which has the same d. date and place, no burial noted].
I am trying, without luck, to find the family of George Edward Lembke in Iowa. All below from the family tree:
Charles John Frederick Lembke, b. 15 Oct 1851, d. 1 Apr 1929
- Spouse: Anna Barbara Eggiman, b. 2 Feb 1851, d. 10 June 1920
- Father: Jacob Eggiman, b. Dec 1802, d. 2 Sept 1864
- Mother: Verena -?-, b. Oct 1813, d. 26 June 1895
Children and grandchildren:
1. August William Lembke, b. 7 Feb 1877, m. Nellie Slyter
2. Lewis Rudolph Lembke, b. 9 Mar 1879, m. Carrie Agnes Brown, 10 Jun 1908, 2 children.
3. George Edward Lembke, b. 5 Feb 1880, m. Ethel Easter Palmer, d. 15 Sept 1944, 11 children (includes twins)
4. Charles John Frederick Lembke (2), b. 20 Sept 1882, m. Elsie Olive Brown, 18 Feb 1909, d. 13 April 1956, 5 children
5. Rose Verena, b. 13 Apr 1884, m. Roy Cary, d. 14 July 1954, 3 children
6. Francis Joseph Lembke, b. 25 Apr 1886, m. Susie Fern Freeman, d. 18 Dec 1970, 10 children (includes twins and triplets!)
7. Barbara Ann Lembke, b. 3 Jan 1888, m. Edward Riepe, d. 10 August 1937, 6 children
8. Arthur H. Lembke, b. 3 Feb 1891, d. ca. May 1891
Anyone know them? Please email me.
13. An old autograph book was found and brought to the Frontier Heritage Library so we can try to find its home. It was presented to Anna M. Hoke by her brother, S. A. and her sister, Jennie, all from Epworth, Iowa. It's dated 1879. Anyone know of this family so the album may be returned?
14. Norma Seibold has a photo taken at the Tucker Ground Floor Studios in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She suspects the couple is Anderson & Mary Ann (Shipwash)Davis or their daughter Martha Caroline Davis and her husband, Charles Edwin Davis (her maiden & married names were the same). Another possibility is the photo is of Hester Jane Davis and husband Charles Wesley Cox. Hester was also a daughter of Anderson and Mary Ann Davis. Does anyone know for sure who these people are?
15. These photos are from our family's Maynes' photo album, but no one in our family knows the identities of these individuals. Thank you for your help. I would love to know if these men belong to the Maynes family. Kristin Brignone
16. This is a series of photos, all believed to be taken in the Neola area. Do you know who any of these fine-looking people are?
17. We have several old photos and we can't identify the people in them. Can you help? Please contact Jan Davison. (Please be patient, the page may load slowly due to the number of photos on it.)
