McClelland, Iowa

Excerpts from the 1907 History of Pottawattamie County

The Chicago and Great Western Railroad was completed in 1903 and immediately the town of McClelland sprang into existence. As of 1907 there were a lumber yard, depot buildings, three general stores, one drug store, one implement and hardward store, two saloons, a livery stable and blacksmith shop and one elevator. The county infirmary was located there under the superintendance of O. L. Barrett. Pete Cramer was engaged in buying and shipping stock.
