Well, another year is almost over and fast approaching is our annual meeting in November.  Please note that it is time to vote on the member of the year and for a new board of directors.  Ballots are being sent with this issue of the Frontier Chronicle.  Also, the menu selections for the upcoming annual dinner have been included.  Please make your selections and return your reservations and ballots as soon as possible.

As we did last year, the annual fund raising event will be held immediately following the dinner at the Council Bluffs Country Club.  We hope that all our members in the local area will be able to attend.  Tickets for the festival are on sale now for the price of $10.00 each.  The festival is open to the public and the board of directors is encouraging all our members to help sell at least four tickets.

We furthermore will include ads in our program book, like we did last year, to help raise additional funds for the society.  Every member is encouraged to sell at least one ad for the book.  Prices are as follows:

• Full page - $100

• Half page - $50

• Quarter page - $25

• Business card - $10

Tickets may be acquired from the secretary at the Frontier Heritage Library.  All advertisements for the program book are to be turned in at the library and must be given to the secretary by November 5, 2006.

Please remember, if you live out of state and wish to participate in the annual fund raising event, we do accept donations which are also tax deductible.  

Working together for the good of the society, we can raise a lot of funds to help us defray the cost of operating our library and society throughout the year.   Remember, although all our staff is volunteer, it still takes money to operate, so please participate.
