About the Keith Street Award
The family of Keith Street honors
his memory with an annual $200 award presented to a youth aged
13 to 20 who has shown interest in restoring, documenting or
researching the history of cemeteries in Iowa. An avid
genealogist and historian, Keith Street was a founding member of
the State Association for the Preservation of Iowa Cemeteries
and a recipient of the Robert Carter Award.
Two members of Keith Street’s family, along with the
president of the State Association for the Preservation of Iowa
Cemeteries will choose the award recipient based on applications
and references.
The award may be used as reimbursement for cemetery work
that has been completed by the applicant or for secondary
education.
Please respond to the following questions in writing and
submit to Connie Street, 325 Franklin St., Wapello IA 52653. You
may use additional paper. Attach two letters of recommendation
from persons not related to you. Deadline is September 1 each
year. The award will be announced at the annual meeting of the
State Association for the Preservation of Iowa Cemeteries.
