The State Association for the Preservation of Iowa Cemeteries was formed in 1996 as a result of legislation that allowed for each of the 99 counties to create a County Cemetery Commission. May is proclaimed CEMETERY APPRECIATION MONTH each year by the Governor of the State of Iowa.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to anyone interested in the restoration and maintenance of Pioneer cemeteries in Iowa.

MEETINGS
Meetings are held on the second Saturday of January, April, July and October at various locations in the state of Iowa. Places are announced in the quarterly newsletter and on this website.
