Here is a photo of Catherine Hoover Port's parents: John Debo Hoover, Sr., and Margaret Hanson Hoover. John was born 10 Oct 1807 in Baltimore, MD. He died 01 Oct 1889 in Battle Creek, Madison Co., NE and was initally interred there. But after a family squabble he was disinterred and reburied with his wife in Iowa. Margaret Hanson Hoover had been born 19 Feb 1818 in Huntingdon Co., PA. She was married John Debo Hoover, Sr. in October of 1835 in Cambria County, PA. Margaret died 18 Feb 1881 in Council Bluffs, Pottawattomie Co., IA. She and her husband now rest in peace in the Fairview Cemetery in Council Bluffs, IA.

I should probably mention that John Debo Hoover, Sr. is my great great grandfather. I descend from Catherine Hoover Port's younger brother John Debo Hoover, Jr. and his wife Luella Josie Lowry. They are both buried in Battle Creek, Madison Co., NE. My grandfather was their son, Jesse Francis Hoover (who married Nell Olson). My father was their son. John Gilbert Hoover. My mother is Alberta Elizabeth Praeuner.
