The Scott County Genealogical Society has its genealogical collection in the Special Collection area of the Davenport Public Library, 321 Main Street. The collection is particularly strong for those doing genealogical research on Scott County families.
The Society is committed to increasing its collection. Resources include the Soundex for the Federal Census of 1920 for the State of Iowa, Scott County Courthouse records, cemetery and church records, Vital Records for neighboring Iowa counties and other states, immigration records, newspaper abstracts and periodicals. These materials provide a broad genealogical base for research and merged with the Davenport Public Library's collection expands the scope of both.
