Carrie Fortik

Services for Carrie A. Fortik, 84, of Caldwell, who died Saturday, August 7, 1993, at her home of natural causes, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 13, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.  Pastor Jerry L. Davis of the Caldwell Free Methodist Church will officiate.  Private burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Frs. Fortik was born November, 10, 1908, in St. Paul, Nebraska, and orphaned as a small child.  Carrie was reared and educated, as a school teacher, near Wolbach and St. Paul, Nebraska.  She married Roy J. Fortik on March 28, 1928, at St. Paul.  They farmed at Ansley, Neb., until October, 4, when they moved to Nampa.  In June of 1944 they moved to Homedale and in December of the same year they moved to a farm near Caldwell.  The couple farmed until 1958 and later moved into Caldwell.
Mrs. Fortik attended the Caldwell Free Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Dale Fortik of Seattle, Wash., Merle Fortik of Belize, Central America, and Benny Fortik of Caldwell; two grandchildren, Tony of Weiser and Julie Fortik Wells of Federal Way, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, one sister and two brothers.
The family suggests memorials be given to the Caldwell Free Methodist Church.
