Services for Chester Helmick,
74, of Boise, and formerly of Caldwell, who died Saturday,
Aug. 22, at a Boise hospital, will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
The Rev. Allen Nelson of the Caldwell Free Methodist
Church will officiate, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral
Chapel, Caldwell.
Mr. Helmick was born Sept. 3, 1912, at Montrose, Colo., to
Chester and Florence Helmick. He was reared and educated at
Montrose.
He married Pearl Taylor June 12, 1933, at Montrose. He
farmed there for many years.
In 1951, they moved to the Caldwell area, where he
continued farming. He worked for Feller Trucking for several
years before retiring in 1984.
Mrs. Helmick died in 1983. He moved to Boise in 1985.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by two daughters, Betty Perkins of Kent,
Wash., and Peggy Compher of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Warren
Helmick of Montrose; seven grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
