Clifford Hahlbeck

    Funeral services for Clifford G. Hahlbeck, 74, of Caldwell, who died Tuesday, January 5, 1993, at home of natural causes were conducted at 2 p.m. today, January 8, 1993, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.  Reverend Dan St. Clair of Homedale officiated.  Private burial was at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, Idaho.
    Mr. Hahlbeck was born May 5, 1918, at Plainview, Nebraska, a son of Clarence and Florence Boies Hahlbeck.  Clifford married Helen Lucille Ban on April 4, 1939, at O'Neill, Nebraska.  The couple lived in Ewing, Nebraska, where he was the town policeman.  He entered the U.S. Navy in 1944 and was honorably discharged in November 1945.  The couple moved to Idaho in 1969 and he became the director of Nampa Housing Authority in 1971, retiring in 1985.
    Clifford was an avid fisherman.  Survivors include his wife, Helen of Caldwell; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Karen of Ewing, Nebraska, Leon and Bertha of Marsing, Donald and Diana of Nampa, and Maurice and Kathy of Norfolk, Nebraska, three daughters, Patricia Alvarez of Caldwell, Kay Hahlbeck of Wichita, Texas, and Cheri and her husband, Tony Vidales of Melba; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
