CALDWELL -
Memorial services for Chester L. Roberts, 63, of Greenleaf,
who died Sunday morning at a Caldwell hospital, will be
conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Greenleaf Friends Church
by the Rev. Paul E. Goins.
Services are under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel,
Caldwell.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1912, in Allen, Neb., where he was
reared and educated. he married Phyllis Ankeny there on
Aug. 9, 1935. The couple farmed in Nebraska until moving
to Caldwell in 1956. He was employed by West Gemco,
Inc., of Caldwell until 1967, when he became associated with
the Agricultural Equipment Technical School in Caldwell.
He was a life-time member of the Friends Church and had been
active as a Sunday school teacher and Spiritual Life Board
member at the Greenleaf Friends Academy.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Dwain,
Boise, Bob, Stevensville, Mont., and Dave Roberts, Caldwell;
two daughters, Delores Choate, Seattle, Wash., and Denise
Roberts, at home, a brother, Jasper Roberts, Caldwell; a
sister, Ruth Ingalls, Princeton, Minn.; a half-sister, Hazel
Wright, in California; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, six half-brothers and
three half-sisters.
Friends may call at the chapel Tuesday until 8:30 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Sports Scoreboard Fund of
Greenleaf Friends Academy. |
