Charles Jordan

Services for Charles W. Jordan, 72, of Boise and formerly of Orovada, Nev., who died Saturday, Oct. 5, at a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. The Rev. David Roper, pastor of the Cole Community Church, Boise, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
    Mr. Jordan was born on May 17, 1913, at Garden Grove, Calif., to Fred W. and Alice Powell Jordan.  In 1918 he moved with his family to Nampa where he attended Midway School and Nampa High School.  He married Ella Metcalf in 1938 in Caldwell.  He was involved in trucking for several years.  In 1948, he built Jordan Locker Plant on Midland Boulevard in Nampa, which he operated for six years.  In 1956, he and his wife moved to Orovada, Nev., where he farmed for 25 years, growing alfalfa seed.  In 1978, he retired and they moved to Boise in 1981.  He and his wife loved to travel and were able to travel extensively throughout the world.
    He is survived by his wife of Boise; one son, Charles E. Jordan of Seattle, Wash.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lee Jordan.
