Esther F. Hoagland, 80, of
Nampa, died Oct. 13, 1995, at a Nampa hospital. Funeral
services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18,
1995, at Alsip Funeral Chapel. Reverend Peter Wood will
officiate. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens,
Caldwell.
Esther was born December 26, 1914, at Wilson, Idaho, to
Faye O. and Lydia Cox Mitchell, one of four daughters. She
was raised in Silver City, Idaho, schooled in Silver City,
Weiser at Intermountain Institute, and graduated from Caldwell
High School in 1933. She married Vernon Hoagland on March 20,
1933. They lived and farmed in Melba and Wilson, Idaho, and
then moved to Nampa in 1974. She worked for the Department of
Agriculture for several years until ill health forced her to
retire.
Esther enjoyed playing bridge, shopping, just being around
people and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Esther was a member of the Melba Rebecca Lodge and the
Lady Elks of Nampa.
She is survived by her husband Vernon of Nampa; three
daughters, Verna Lea Baker of Boise, Betty Lou Wilson of
Bruneau, and Donna Wood and her husband L.W. of Caldwell; one
sister Jesse Mae Howland of Caldwell; twenty grandchildren,
and 32 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Alsip Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 6
until 9 p.m. |
