Services for Ethel May Kennedy, 91, of Cascade, who died
Thursday, April 14, in a McCall hospital, will be conducted at
11 a.m., Monday at the Cascade Community Christian Church by
Pastor Ron Neumann. Interment
will follow at 330 p.m., Monday, at the
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens,
Nampa, under the
direction of Heikkia Funeral Chapel, McCall.
She
was born May 25, 1891, on the family homestead near
Nampa, where she was reared.
She married E.C.
Kennedy on Dec. 21, 1910, in
Caldwell.
They operated the
family homestead in the
Maple Grove
area until 1946 when he retired.
They moved to
Caldwell, where she worked for the high
school hot lunch program retiring in 1965.
Mr. Kennedy died Feb.
2, 1960. She continued
living in Caldwell where she was an active member of the
Presbyterian Church, Canyon County Granger and the Dirt
Gardeners Club. She
wrote articles for the Caldwell News Tribune, and was a member
of the Idaho Writers League. She
moved to Cascade to live with her daughter in 1969, where she
was an active member of the Cascade Community Christian
Church, the Long Valley Gardeners and the Cascade Senior
Citizens.
She is survived by a daughter, Marie Bell of Cascade; a
son, James Kennedy of
Nampa; six grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter
and a sister.
The family suggest memorials be given to a favorite
charity.
