Edith Friddle |
Edith R.
Friddle, 78, of Melba, died Saturday, March 14, 1992, at a
Nampa care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m.
Thursday, March 19, at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
The Rev. Russell Steiner of the Melba Community Baptist church
will officiate. burial will follow in the Melba
Cemetery, Melba.
Edith was born Sept. 5, 1913, at Simla, Colo., the fourth of
six children of Albert L. and Mina F. Hensley Seeger.
She grew up and attended schools at Kuhns Crossing and Simla
High School. She was married to Clen William Friddle on
June 15, 1929, at Colorado Springs, Colo. They farmed in
Colorado for three years until moving to a farm at Melba in
the spring of 1932. Mr. Friddle died Sept. 15, 1979, and
Edith continued to live on the farm for several years.
More recently, she resided at a retirement center in Nampa.
Edith and Clen were honored at their 50th wedding anniversary
in June 1979, prior to Clen's death in September 1979.
Edith joined the Melba Rebekah Lodge No. 105 in May 1940 and
served as noble grand of that organization and received her
50-year pin from her Rebekah Lodge in May 1990. She
served on the Melba election board and as its head judge for
many years. She was active in the PTA for several years
while her children were in school.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard W. and
Peggy Friddle of Melba; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley L.
and Charles Miller of Caldwell; two sisters, Gladys Ella
Rinebarger and Lela Maxine Johnson, both of Nampa; five
grandchildren, Rick and Gayle Friddle and Tom and Mary Friddle,
all of Melba, Debbie and Rich Harris of Ogden, Utah, Greg and
LaRee Miller and Nancy and Jim Huffman, all of Caldwell; seven
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a
sister.
memorials may be made to the Melba Quick Response Unit, the
Melba Senior Citizens Center, or flowers may be sent.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Wednesday and until time of services on Thursday at
Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa. |
