Funeral
services for the Rev. Elbie D. Green, 83, of 111 15th Ave. S.,
Nampa, who died Wednesday, May 23, in a Nampa nursing
home, will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the North Nampa
Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. R.W. Carpenter, pastor of
the church, officiating. He will be assisted
by the Rev. H.C.
Thomas, Intermountain District Superintendent of the Church of
the Nazarene. Services are under the direction of the Alsip
Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
He was born Sept. 9, 1900 in Industry, Ill. At a young
age he moved with his family to Oklahoma where they lived
until 1911. The
family then moved to Idaho by way of covered wagon, spending
that winter in Casper, Wyo., and then moved onto Idaho Falls
in July of 1912. He
later moved to Los Angeles, Calif.. where he met and married
Oleda Avery. His wife preceded him in death and he married
Edna Wright in 1945. He
and his wife served 25 years in the pastorate of the Church of
the Nazarene in California. In 1971,
they moved to Nampa where they had since made their
home.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two sons, Elden
Green, Sunnyvale, Calif. and Douglas Green, Federal Way,
Wash.; one daughter. Dena Wyland, San Diego, Calif.;
two brothers, Zavan Green, Firth, and Gayle Green, Los
Angeles, Calif.; 10
grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
