Emiliano Gonzalez

    Emiliano Gonzalez, 72, of Brownsville, Texas, died Monday, August 8, 1994, after a long bout with cancer in a Brownsville nursing home, where he had been under care for the past 2 years.
    Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 12, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 13, St. Hubert's Catholic Church, Homedale.  Burial will follow in Wilder Cemetery.
    Emilio, was born March 25, 1922, in Brownsville, Texas, son of Emiliano and Maria E. Gonzalez.  He was raised and educated in Corpus Cristi, Texas.  Emilio lived in Wilder from 1953-1985, mainly in the spring, summer, and early fall.  He worked for and befriended Kay Yasuda, Phil Church and Walter Lowe.
    Fishing and treating kids to ice cream cones and candy bars were his favorite hobbies.
    Survivors include his wife, Maria V. Gonzalez of Brownsville; step-daughter and husband, Rosario and Modesto Sandel of Brownsville; three brothers, Arturo M., David, and Raul Gonzalez of Wilder; sister-in-law and husband, Reyes and Ernesto Villareal of Brownsville; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and one sister.
    Emilio will be greatly missed but remembered by the many friends, nephews, nieces and other family members as a loving and playful brother, uncle and friend to all.
