Fred Henkel

    Services for Fred G. Henkel, 80, Parma, who died Sunday, May 27, in his home in rural Parma, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, in the Lienkaemper Chapel in Nyssa, Ore.
    The Rev. William Russell of the First Church of the Nazarene of Nyssa will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Parma Cemetery.  
    Mr. Henkel was born Sept. 30, 1903, in Kolb, Russia.  He came to the United States in 1915 and settled In Longmont, Colo.  He married Marion Weiderspon July 10, 1927, in Brighton, Colo.  They moved to the Parma-Nyssa area in 1941 where they homesteaded the farm at which he was living at the time of his death.
    He is survived by his wife of Parma: two sons, Roy Henkel of Baker, Ore., and Merlen Henkel of Boise; a daughter. Joan Mitchell of Brighton: three brothers, Harold Henkel of Brighton, Raymond Henkel of Denver, Colo., and Ralph Henkel of Greeley, Colo.; two sisters. Ruby Zajonckowski of Denver and Molly Wagner of Longmont: five grandchildren: and three great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the Nyssa Lienkaemper Chapel Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
