NAMPA – Graveside funeral
services for Fred P. Heiss, 76, of 131 Hudson, who died at a
Nampa hospital on Monday, following an extended illness, will
be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at the Hillcrest Memorial
Gardens with the War Eagle Barracks, No. 459, Veterans of
World War I, Nampa, officiating. The cortege will leave the
Alsip Funeral Chapel at 12:30 p.m.
Mr. Heiss was born April 18, 1899, at Bonilla, S.D. He
later moved with his family to Huron, S.D. where he attended
school. He was married to Opal Stewart on April 16, 1934, at
Woonsocket, S D. Following their marriage they resided in
Huron, S.D. where he worked with the Chicago Northwestern
Railroad. In 1945, they moved to Nampa where he worked for
the Union Pacific Railroad as a car inspector until he retired
in 1966. He was a member of the War Eagle Barracks No. 459,
Veterans of World War I, Nampa, Railway Carmen of America No.
590, Nampa, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 2103 of
Nampa.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Opal Heiss, Nampa; three
sons, Richard, Lavista, Neb., Robert, Nampa, and Eugene, Havre
de Grace, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Anderson, Fargo, N.D.,
and Mrs. Bessie Spellbring, Eau Claire, Wis.; three
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and
one brother. |
