Services for Flossie V. Graves, 89, of Nampa, who died
Tuesday, July 16, in a Nampa nursing home, will be held at 2
p.m. Thursday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa. The Rev.
Verle Mitchell of the First United Methodist Church. Meridian,
will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial
Mrs. Graves was born July 24, 1895, in Carleton. Neb., to
Henry and Anna Baxter Griffith, and was reared, educated and
taught school in that area. She married Merle J. Graves on
Jan. 1, 1915, in Carleton and they farmed in Nebraska until
moving in 1946 to Idaho, where they farmed until Mr. Graves'
death in 1936. She was a member of the Nampa Church of the
Brethren and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by three daughters, Hazel (Mrs. John)
Dudgeon of Meridian, Leota (Mrs. Del) Archer of Renton, Wash.,
and Dorothy (Mrs. W.H. Thompson) of Denver, Colo.; one
brother, Richard Peterson of Boise; three sisters, Pearl Maust
of Bruning, Neb., and Hazel Miller and Irene Brown, both of
Vallejo, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;
and numerous nephews and nieces.
A son, James Graves, her parents, three brothers and one
sister preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made to the Nampa Church of the Brethren
Memorial Fund or flowers may be sent.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to
service time on Thursday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of
