Gerald Gries

    Graveside services for Gerald Lee "Gerry" Gries, 39, of Ellensburg, Wash., and formerly of Nampa, who died Saturday, March 28, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.  Arrangements are under the direction of Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, Yakima.
    Mr. Gries was born in Nampa.
    He farmed in Jerome, Adrian, Parma and Ellensburg, where he was a partner in a dairy operation at the time of his death.
    He had been a foster father for 25 children.
    He was a member of the American Quarterhorse Association; the Appleton and Fargo Grange, Ellensburg; and the Ayrshire Breeders Association.
    He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Parma: a son, David of Parma; two daughters, Angela Wood of New Plymouth and Dana Gries of Parma; a sister, Gaylene Rhodes of Mountain Home; two brothers, Gary Gries of Seattle, Wash., and Michael Sveda of Christopher, Ill.; his father, Gail Gries of Wendell; and grandfather, William S. Hall of Twin Falls.
    Memorials may be made to the Hope House, Nampa; or the American Heart Association.
