Gladys N. Jerome, 79, of Boise,
a former Nampa resident, died
Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1992, at a
Boise
hospital. Vigil
services will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10,
at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Friday at
St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa, by the Rev. Father
Paul Mathews, S.M. Burial
will follow at
Mount Calvary
Cemetery, Nampa.
Mrs. Jerome was born Feb. 16, 1913, at
Nampa, a daughter of Walter L. and Ora
Belle Lynn Baltazor. She
grew up and attended schools here and graduated from
Nampa
High School in 1931.
She attended a beauty
college and became a licensed beautician, then owned and
operated a beauty shop in Melba for several years.
She married Dwight W.
Jerome Aug. 28, 1939, in Nampa
and they made their home in Kuna until moving to
Nampa
in 1962. She worked
for the J.R. Simplot Food Processing facility in
Caldwell
from the mid-'50s until she retired in 1976.
Mr. Jerome died Oct.
22, 1972. She remained
a Nampa
resident until moving to the home of her daughter and
son-in-law in Boise two years ago.
She was a
member of St. Paul's Catholic
Church and a past president of the Legion of Mary at
St. Paul's Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Loren K. and
Sharon Jerome of Nampa; a
daughter, Verna Heath-Balls and her husband, Keith, of
Boise; two sisters, Violet Mason and Mildred
Leslie, both of Nampa, a
granddaughter, JoAnn C. Jerome of
Nampa; and several nieces and nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Memorials may be made to the Coronary Care Unit of St.
Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, Boise, 83706; to the Idaho Diabetes
Association,
1528 Vista Ave., Boise, 83705; or flowers may be sent.
Friends
may call until 9 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday
and until 2 p.m. Friday at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel,
Nampa.
