Harry Clarence Skinner

     CALDWELL - Services for Harry Clarence Skinner, 79, 2120 S. 10th St., Caldwell, who died Saturday in a Caldwell hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel.  Officiating will be Rev. Steve Burris, First Christian Church, Caldwell, and rev. Orville Stile, Boise.  Interment will be in Greenleaf Cemetery.
    He was born Oct. 22, 1896, at Union, Iowa.  he lived in Iowa as a small boy until moving to South Dakota with his family where he attended school, graduating from the Heresford, S.D. High School in 1915.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army June 5, 1917, and served overseas with the 81st Division in France during World War I.  He was discharged in 1919.  He married Gertrude Young Dec. 15, 1919, in Sioux City, Iowa.  They came to Idaho where they farmed in the Wilder area.  he retired and they moved to Caldwell where they had since resided.  He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge. No. 137, Wilder; a life member and past post commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 3886, Caldwell; and was a member of the Veterans of World War I, Caldwell.
    he is survived by his wife; a son, Robert, Caldwell; and two granddaughters, Trudy and Jane Skinner, Caldwell.
