Services for
Herbert L. Jenkins, 75, of Nampa, who died Thursday, Dec. 20, in a
Nampa
hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Alsip
Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Bishop Ken Harward
of the Nampa 11th Ward Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate.
Interment will follow
in the Hillcrest Memorial
Gardens.
Mr. Jenkins was
born Oct. 17, 1909, in
Dade County, Mo. He
was reared and educated in Greenfield, Mo.
He served in the U.S.
Army during World War II.
He married Connie R. Kimball on July 21, 1948, at
Malad. Following their
marriage, they made their home in
Pocatello.
In 1958 they moved to Nampa where they have since resided.
He worked for the
Union Pacific Railroad for 33 years retiring as an engineer.
He was a member of the
Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
He is survived by
his wife of Nampa; four sons, Gerry L. Jenkins, Bremerton,
Wash., Ed B. Jenkins, Nampa, Joseph D. Jenkins, Boise and
Phillip S. Jenkins, with the U.S. Army in Alexandria, Va. ;
one daughter, Barbara A. Heer, Stillwater, Okla.; two
brothers, Kyle Jenkins, Pocatello, and Thomas Jenkins, Tulare,
Calif. ; three grandsons and three grand-daughters.
He was preceded in
death by four brothers and two sisters.
