Hershel Jensen

    Funeral services for Hershel S. Jensen, 81, of Boise, formerly of Melba, who died on Saturday, June 25, in Boise, will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Joseph Housh of the Nampa First United Methodist Church. Interment, with graveside rites by the Melba IOOF Lodge #150, will follow in the Melba Cemetery.
    He was born on Feb. 13, 1902, at Mt. Pleasant, Utah, to Sophus and Lura Jensen. He was reared and attended Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant. He married Verda Patricia Hopfenbeck on Sept. I 22, 1926, in Salt Lake City. They made their home in Mt. Pleasant until 1950 when they moved to Melba where they farmed. Mrs. Jensen died on Feb. 7, 1963. He resided in Melba until 1976, at which time he moved to Boise where he had made his home since.
    He was a member of the Melba IOOF Lodge #150; a member of the Damascus Lodge #10, AF&AM of Mt. Pleasant; and a life member of the Boise Scottish Rite Bodies.
    He is survived by two daughters, Gloria Henderson of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Wagers of Boise; one brother, Rex S. Jensen of Melba; and six grandsons.
    The family suggests memorial contributions to a favorite charity or flowers may be sent.
    Pallbearers will be grandsons, Scott J., John K., and Robert K. Henderson and Gary W., Kenneth G. and David B. Wagers.
