Services for Helen Fithian Johnson, 79, Marsing, who died
Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Nampa hospital of natural causes, will be
conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel,
Caldwell. Pastor James
McMillan of the Caldwell Free
Methodist
Church
will officiate. Burial
will follow in the Hillcrest
Memorial
Gardens, Caldwell.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Wolach, Neb.,
on Jan. 7, 1907, a daughter of John and Mary Ann Dollarhide.
She was reared and
educated in Wolach. She
married Earl Mike Fithian in Wolach and together they moved to
Idaho in 1935, where they bought a farm south of
Lake
Lowell.
She taught school in
Scism, Marsing and Knowlton Heights school districts.
She later taught at
the Idaho
State School
and Hospital at Nampa.
Mr. Fithian died in Boise on Jan. 8, 1967.
She retired in 1972
and moved to Marsing. She
married Bill Johnson on March 3, 1975, at Winnemucca, Nev.
She is survived by her husband of Marsing; a son, Larry
Fithian of Fallon. Nev.; a
stepson, Ron Johnson of Marsing; a step-daughter, Debbie Ford
of Homedale; a sister, Carrie Fortik of
Caldwell; a brother, John Dollarhide of
North Dakota; 10 grandchildren, and
three great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister, and
a grandson.
Friends may call at the chapel today from 5 to 9 p.m.
