J. C. Serratos

    NAMPA Ė Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paulís Catholic Church for J.C. (Pop) Serratos, 69, 1703 Sixth St. S., who died at his home Thursday morning.
    The Rev. Fr. Robert G. Haggett will be the celebrant.  Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Rosary devotions will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Shepherd Chapel.  The funeral cortege will leave the chapel at 11:20 a.m. Saturday.
    Mr. Serratos was born Dec. 25, 1897, at Arandas, Mexico.  He was reared in Mexico and married Elena Serratos on April 23, 1915, at Arandas.  He entered the U.S. in 1920, settling in the Midwest and moving to Nampa in 1938.
    Mr. Serratos retired 14 months ago from Pacific Fruit Express in Nampa after 19 years of service.  Mr. and Mrs. Serratos celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1965 in Nampa.  He was a member of St. Paulís Catholic Church, the Brotherhood of Railroad Carmen of America, and Local 1147 of Nampa.
    Survivors include his wife Elena, of Nampa; six daughters, Miss Clara Serratos, Nampa, Mrs. John Duran, Lincoln, Calif., Mrs. Paul Gibson of Citrus Heights, Calif., Mrs. Clifford Bond of Caldwell, and Mrs. Neal Foreman and Mrs. Vernon Johnston, both of Grand View; six sons, Raymond, Ralph, Elie and Theodore, all of Nampa, Lupe of Wilder and Arthur of Caldwell; one sister, Mrs. Mary Vaca, Mexico; a brother, Nieves Serratos, Lincoln, Calif.; 26 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  Two grandchildren preceded him in death.
