Judson Gould

Funeral services for Judson L. Gould, 72, of Nampa, formerly of the Caldwell and Middleton areas, who died Friday at home of natural causes, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell by the Rev. Bruce H. Snyder of the Montana Avenue Baptist Church in Caldwell.  Interment will follow at the Middleton Cemetery.
Judson was born on July 27, 1915, at Snipes Mountain, Wash., near Sunnyside to Everett and Otie Moss Gould.  He attended school at Harrah, Wash.  He moved with his family to the Fruitland area.  They moved to the Vale, Ore., area in 1930 where he finished his education and graduated from Vale High School in 1935.  He farmed in the Vale area.  He married Ruby Holton on Dec. 15, 1935, at Payette.  They farmed in the Vale area until 1948 when they moved to Middleton.  He continued farming there as well as working at the Amalgamated Sugar Co. in the winter months.  In 1966 he was employed at the J.R. Simplot Co. in Caldwell as a mechanic.  He retired from farming in 1967 and retired from Simplot in 1977.  He worked for the U.S.D.A. as a potato inspector during the harvest season for several years.  They moved to Nampa in July of 1987.  He enjoyed his family most of all.  He also loved his retirement and going South for the winter months.  They did this for 11 years.  Judson was the kind of person who would start a conversation with anyone, and liked visiting with people.  He was a member of the Middleton Baptist Church, and has attended the Montana Avenue Baptist Church for the past several years.  He is survived by his wife, Ruby of Nampa; two sons, Milan Gould of Middleton and Bert Gould of North Fork, Idaho; two daughters, Judith Johnson of Nampa and Sherrel Stewart of Botthel, Wash.; one sister, Neomi Stigen of Seattle, Wash.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.  Memorials may be made to the Hospice Program at Mercy Medical Center in Nampa.  Friends may call Monday from 1 until 8 p.m. at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell.
