Jennie Gifford

    Jennie Gifford, 83, of Nampa passed away Monday, August 19, 1996, at her home in Nampa of natural causes on the day of her husband's funeral, who had passed away on August 14, 1996.  A joint funeral was held at 2 p.m. on August 19, 1996, at the 15th Ward of the L.D.S. Church in Nampa.  Burial followed at the Hillcrest Cemetery.  Services were under the direction of the Relyea Funeral Chapel.
    Mrs. Gifford was born July 15, 1913, at American Fork, Utah, the daughter of Clarence Josiah and Mary Jane Russell Thornton.  She married Rural W. Gifford on February 10, 1931, and their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 10, 1932.
    Jennie was a wonderful mother and grandmother and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, having served as Gleaner Leader, Genealogist, and Stake Missionary among her many assignments. She also owned a successful craft store called Jenny's Crafts for 25 years while they lived in Garden City, dealing in a wide variety of crafts.
    Survivors include; a son, Leo R. Gifford of Nampa; two daughters, Juanita May Brunson of Delta, Utah, and Jennie LaReve Pulver of Nampa; 19 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
