Mary Hayes

    Rosary for Mary E. Hayes, 90, of Nampa, who died Monday, July 8, in a Nampa hospital, will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa.
    Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Nampa, by the Rev. George F. Fahey, S.M., of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
    Mrs. Hayes was born Dec. 26. 1894, in Minden, Neb., to Thomas and Malissa Walker Cavanaugh, and was reared and educated there.  She attended the College of Saint Mary at Omaha and received her bachelor's degree in education and thereafter taught for several years in Nebraska.
    She married John E. Hayes on Jan. 3, 1917, in Elm Creek, Neb., and they farmed in Nebraska until moving to Nampa in 1941 where they owned and operated the Hayes Livestock Auction until 1957.  Mr. Hayes died in July, 1965.
    She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and of the Altar Society.
    She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Hayes of Boise; three sons, John E. Hayes of Caldwell, Thomas W. Hayes of Nampa and W.J. "Mike" Hayes of Green River, Wyo.; two sisters, Belle Cavanaugh and Bridget Veal, both of Minden, Neb., 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
