Services for Muriel Esther
Hoover, 89, of Nampa, who died Tuesday, Nov. 19, at a Nampa
nursing home, will be conducted, at 2 p.m. Friday, at the
Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
The Rev. David H. Schmidt, pastor of the Nampa Zion
Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at the
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hoover was born May 14, 1896, at Bartley, Neb., to
William W and Jane L. Strong Kite. She was reared and
educated in Bartley.
She married Jay Hobert Hoover on Sept. 12, 1917 at McCook,
Neb. They farmed in Bartley for several years. In 1938, they
moved to Nampa, where they made their home. Mr. Hoover died
April 18, 1966, and she had resided in Nampa since.
She was a member of the Nampa Senior Citizens and a member
of the Nampa Live Long and Like It Club.
She is survived by two sons, Hobert Hoover of Nampa, and
Clayton "Smokey" Hoover of Greenbank, Wash.; two daughters,
Cleda M. Links of Boise and Dawna N. Case of Mt. Vernon,
Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Hoover of Nampa; 12
grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and a son,
Bernard K. "Herb" Hoover, who died July 3, 1985.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nampa Senior
Citizens Center or flowers may be sent.
Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until 9
p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. |
