Marion Jorgenson

    Funeral services for Marion E. Jorgenson, Portland, formerly of Nampa, who died of natural causes Friday in a Castro Valley, Calif., hospital, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa, by the Rev. Thomas Blackburn of the Community Christian Center, Garden City.  Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Nampa.
    She was born in Union County, Iowa.  She moved with her family to Plankinton,S.D., where she was reared and educated.  She graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, S.D.  She married Loyal Jorgenson on July 27, 1940, in Sioux Falls.  She worked as a dental assistant in Sioux Falls until 1941, when they moved to Oakland, Calif.  She worked for the Alameda County Civil Service and later for Legal Civil Service Division of the Alameda County Sheriff's Department.  She retired Nov. 14, 1972.  She lived in Nampa from December 1973 to October 1978, when she moved to Portland, where she had since made her home.
    She is survived by two sons, Robert of Union City, Calif., and Roger of Portland; a daughter, Shirley Jorgenson of San Lorenzo, Calif.; four brothers, Howard Shields of Portland, Eldon Shields of Nampa, Harold Shields of Daly City, Calif., and Ercell Shields of Boise; two sisters, Helen Raymond of Boise and Norma Jean Smith of Modesto, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
