M. Kale Frans, 64, of Nampa, died Monday, Dec. 2, 1996, at a
Nampa hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2
p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens,
Caldwell. Arrangements are under the direction of
Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Kale was born January 6, 1932, at Fay, Oklahoma, a son of
Elvin and Mary Tomlinson Frans. At age 7 the family
moved to Idaho where he received his education. He
married Donna Brewer on June 1951 at Valdosta, Georgia.
Kale served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
After being discharged he returned to the Melba area where he
farmed. He trained race horses for 17 years and was on
the State Racing Commission before starting his own
construction company which he operated for 20 years.
Kale enjoyed fishing and his life-long dream came true when
he went to Alaska last year.
Survivors include his wife, Donna of Nampa; three sons and
their wives, Jim and Karen Frns of Caldwell, Ken and Debbie
Frans of Nampa, Bruce and Tammy Frans of Caldwell; a daughter,
Jill Frans of Nampa; his stepmother, Mary Frans of Great
Falls, MT.; and a step-brother and his wife, Cliff and Martha
Thomas of Great Falls, MT; thirteen grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Friends may call today until 9 p.m. and Wednesday until 12:30
p.m. at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
