Marjorie Gharring

    Marjorie Rose Gomer Gharring, 66, of Nampa, died Tuesday, October 10, 1995, at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 13, 1995, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Rev. Larry Eyman, pastor of the Caldwell First Christian Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
    Marjorie Rose Gomer Gharring was born on April 5, 1929, on a farm at Redmond, Oregon, in Deschutes County, the oldest of seven children born to Emanuel and Lillie Hill Gomer.  She started her schooling in Redmond.  In 1937 she moved with her family to Idaho where she attended the Red Top School, west of Caldwell.  She then attended Blue Valley School near Meridian and later Lone Tree School, north of Nampa in 1941.  She graduated from Nampa High School in 1948.  She was working at the Nampa Elevator, when she met and married Harold Frank Gharring on July 18, 1954, in Nampa and they had four children.  She worked at the First Security Bank and the Idaho First National Bank in Nampa. In February of 1968 the family moved to Superior, Nebraska. In 1971 she started working for the Good Samaritan Nursing Homes there.  In 1983, Marjorie and Harold returned to Nampa and she continued working for the Good Samaritan Nursing Homes in Boise as a Certified Nurses Aid until her retirement.  
    She was a member of the Caldwell First Christian Church. Marjorie's favorite pastimes were reading and crocheting.
    She is survived by her husband, Harold of Nampa; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Doug Drake, Lincoln, Nebraska, Nancy and Carlos Erasquin, Clovis, New Mexico, and Judy and James Cramer, Thermopolis, Wyoming; 1 son and daughter-in –law, Harold Frank Gharring II and Diane, Caldwell; 5 sisters, Shirley (Mrs. Don) Hunt, Cascade, Idaho, Lenta (Mars. James) ford, Nampa, Grace Monfort, Nampa, Gloria (Mrs. Roland) Eidam, Pendleton, Oregon, Gladys (Mrs. Dean) Showers, Jerome, Idaho; 1 brother, Howard Gomer, Nampa; 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents.
    Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    The family suggests memorial contributions to the Mercy Hospice Program, 1512 12th Ave. Rd., Nampa, Idaho 83686, or flowers may be sent.
