Graveside services for Michael T. Gutenberg 78, of Nampa, who
died Monday, July 6, in a Boise hospital, will be held at 2
p.m. Friday, at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Scott Young, of the Caldwell Church of Christ will officiate.
Friends may meet at the cemetery. Services are under the
direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Mr. Gutenberg was born Nov. 4, 1908, in Grand Forks, N.D.,
and moved as a young child to Great Falls, Mont., where he was
reared and educated.
He married Leora Kirkendall Sept. 3, 1929, at Great Falls.
They made Great Falls their home until 1940 when they moved
to Washington, D.C. In 1943 they moved to Pocatello, followed
by a 1949 move to Nampa. He retired from the Union Pacific
Railroad as a machinist in 1973. His wife died July 15, 1976.
He married Janice Pruitt Oct. 19, 1976, in Nampa, where
they had since resided.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; a son and
daughter-in-law, Richard and Patricia Gutenberg of Longmont,
Colo; a daughter and son-in-law, Frank and Maureen Evans of
Keene, Texas; four sisters, Margaret Larson and Lena Jenkins,
both of Great Falls, Elizabeth Halldorson of Pahrump, Nev.,
and Matilda Sabol of San Jose, Calif.; two stepchildren, Paul
Kingery of Oregon and Evelyn Blank of Ketchum; four
granddaughters; and several step-grandchildren :
step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
