services for Maria E. Gonzalez. 85. Wilder, who died
Wednesday, Jan.18, at a Caldwell hospital, will be recited
Friday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale, by Father Mel
Sprute, St. Hubert's Catholic Church, Homedale.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated a 10 a.m.
Saturday at St. Hubert's by Father Sprute. Interment will
follow in the Wilder Cemetery.
Mrs. Gonzalez was born Feb. 20. 1898, at Matamoros
Tamaulipas, Mexico, where she was reared and educated. She
moved to Brownville, Tex., in 1915 with her family.
She married Emiliano Gonzalez, April 15, 1917, at
Brownville. In 1931 they moved to Refugio, Texaas and in
1932, to Corpus Christi. They returned to Mexico in 1935.
Mr. Gonzalez died in 1945 in Mexico.
In 1950, she moved to Brownsville and in 1954 to Wilder,
where she lived until her death. She was a member of St.
Hubert's Catholic Church, Homedale.
She is survived by four sons, Emiliano Jr.. Arturo, David
and Raul Gonzalez all of Wilder: a sister Feliciana Perez of
Brownsville; 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and
one niece.
She was preceded in death by five sons, one daughter, one
brother and three sisters.
Friends may call at the chapel until 8 p.m. today and
Friday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. |
