Marie Hanson

   

    Marie Hanson, 92, of Nampa, and formerly of Carthage, South Dakota, went to be with her Saviour on May 4, 1992, having died at her home of natural causes.  Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 6, at 10 a.m. at the Alsip Funeral Chapel. Rev. Tom McCall, pastor of the Grace Bible Church will officiate, assisted by Rev. Kenneth Ball, associate pastor of the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene.  Concluding services will be in Carthage, South Dakota.
    Marie Hanson was born on Sept. 12, 1899, at Seljord, Norway, the daughter of Hale and Guro Dahl. In 1904 her family immigrated to America settling at Carthage, South Dakota. She was wonderfully converted on May 5, 1921.  She devoted most of her adult life in giving loving care to others, especially to her husband, Jack. She married B.V. "Jack" Hanson on July 16, 1942.  They farmed near Esmond, South Dakota.  They were charter members of the Carthage Church of the Nazarene.  In 1975 they moved to Nampa and her husband preceded her in death in 1979.
    Marie is survived by 3 stepchildren, Wayne Hanson, Carthage, South Dakota, Lottie Aman, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Lillie L i e , Vincennes, Indiana; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 4 nieces, Mrs. Archie (Alice) Crandall, Nampa, Marian Anfinson, Olympia, WA., Mrs. George (Dorothy) Broer, Huron, South Dakota and Mrs. Gene (Catherine) Lucklum, Chino CA.; 3 cousins, Obed Dahl, Nampa, and Reuben and Deborah Dahl, Tacoma, WA.; and many caring friends, including LaVaun Teegarden, who gave years of loving care to both Marie and Jack, assisted by Marilyn Franklin and Dorothy Stamp.
    Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Christine; a brother, Severt Dahl; and 2 nephews.
    Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.  Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
