Newell Harbour

    Newell Emerson Harbour, 86, of Parma, died at home Tuesday, May 7, 1996, following an extended illness.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 10, 1996, at Dakan funeral Chapel, Parma.  Hospice chaplain Arlen Benson, pastor of the Payette Assembly of god Church, will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Parma Cemetery.
    Mr. Harbour was born July 23, 1909, in Ellis County, Oklahoma, the son of Martin L, and Phebe Berry Harbour.  He later moved with his family to California in 1921.  In 1929 he married Hilda Harvey and to this union two children were born, Betty and Robert.  He later married Winnifred Ladd in 1956.  They later moved to Idaho in 1987 where they settled in the Parma area to be near Winnifred's daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Gene Robinson, who together have been so kind and thoughtful to care for them.  Newell had very much enjoyed his last years in Idaho.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
    He is survived by his wife, Winnifred of Parma; a daughter, Betty Laughlin; 4 stepchildren; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 sister and 1 brother; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Robert, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
    Friends may call at the Dakan Chapel of Parma on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
    The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Idaho Division, Inc., 2676 Vista Ave, P.O. Box 5386, Boise, ID 83705.
