Services for Nora S. Jewell, 89, of Nampa, who died Monday, June 11, in a Nampa nursing home, will be conducted Thursday
at 2 p.m. at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa.
The
Rev. Joseph Housh of the First United
Methodist
Church,
Nampa, will
officiate. Internment will follow in
Hillcrest Memorial Gardens,
Caldwell.
Mrs.
Jewell was born March 29, 1895, in The Dalles, Ore.,
to William and Alva John Leininger.
At the age of 2 she
moved with her family by covered wagon to Arcadia, Neb.,
where she was reared and educated.
She married Oscar E.
Jewell Sept. 30, 1913, in Loup City,
Neb., where they lived until moving to Nampa in March 1940.
Mr. Jewell died in
July, 1974.
She is survived by one son, Normal L. Jewell,
Mesa, Ariz.; one
sister, Mrs. Gladys Larson,
Nampa; nine grandchildren; 17
great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. George, Vera, Ham;
one son, Glen Jewell; two sisters; and three brothers.
Friends may call at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa until 6
p.m. today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m.
until service time Thursday.
