Flora Johnston

    Funeral services for Mrs. Nema Johnston, 94, of Nampa, who died Tuesday, June 15, 1993, at a Nampa retirement center, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, 1993, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  Rev. Steven Wolff of the Kuna First United Methodist Church will officiate.  Private entombment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Building of Reverence, Caldwell.
    Nema Johnston was born on June 29, 1898, in Charleston, Illinois, to John and Lillie Harwood Swisher.  She was reared and educated in Illinois and graduated from Albion College.  She married Roy C. Johnston in Salt Lake City, UT on September 4, 1920.  She taught school in Paul, Idaho, for a short time and then moved to Nampa and continued to teach for many years.  At one time she was the superintendent of the school districts in Owyhee County.  Mr. Johnston died on August 31, 1959.
    She was a member of the Nampa First United Methodist Church, The P.E.O. Sisterhood, The Delta Kappa Gamma Society and a lifetime member of the Y.W. C.A.
    She is survived by a nephew, Robert L. Simmonds of Mercer Island, WA, and his children, Scott Simmonds of Seattle and Leslie Day of Portland; and numerous friends.
    Memorials may be made to the Nampa First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 404 12th Ave. S., Nampa, Idaho 83651; or flowers may be sent.
