Opal Patchin

   Opal Martin Schimmels Patchin, 71, of Nampa, died Friday, April 5, 1991, at the home of her daughter in Nampa. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 8, 1991, at the Parma cemetery. The Rev. Allen Nelson of Caldwell will officiate. Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    Opal was born January 2, 1920, in Phillips County, Kansas to Fred and Ila Parker Martin. In March 1937 she came to Idaho where she married Myrl Schimmels on October 9, 1937. Three children, Doyle, Maurice and Linda were born to them. Myrl passed away April 19, 1951. Opal and her children moved from Parma to Caldwell where she worked for J. R. Simplot Company and Crookham Seed Company. She married Pat Patchin February 9, 1957. They moved to his farm where they lived until retirement. They were divorced on June 15, 1984.
   Opal attended the Caldwell Free Methodist Church.
    Surviving her are two sons and daughters-in-law, Doyle and Nonnie Schimmels of Manistee, Michigan and Maurice and Janie Schimmels of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jake Dowers of Nampa; six sisters, Hannah Allen of Nampa, Della Benedict of Caldwell, Freda Thompson of Central City, California, Lois Cone of Parma, Naomi Campbell of Parma and Kathleen Anderson of Fort Frazer, British Columbia, Canada; two brothers, Tommy Martin and Paul Martin, both of Parma; and six granddaughters, three grandsons and three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Martin.
   Her family suggests memorials be made to Mercy Hospice, 1512 12th Avenue Road, Nampa, Idaho 83686. Friends may call at Dakan Funeral Chapel today from 2 to 6 p.m.
