Pliny Jerome

    Pliny Jerome Graveside funeral services for Pliny Jerome, 74, Grants Pass, Ore., formerly of Caldwell, who died Tuesday at home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Knowlton Heights Cemetery, Caldwell, by the Rev. Don Baldwin of the Followers of Christ Church, Caldwell, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    He was born Nov. 3, 1906, in Los Gatos, Calif.  He moved with his family to the Grants Pass area at age 6.  He married Opel EelIs on March 31, 1930, in Boise.  They lived in Knowlton Heights community near Caldwell.  They moved to Grants Pass in 1946.  His wife died Oct. 25, 1973.  He married Menta Wallace in 1974 in Carson City, Nev.  He was a member of the Grants Pass Followers of Christ Church.
    He is survived by his wife of Grants Pass; four daughters, Betty Newlin, Alice Hickman and Catherine Eells, all of Grants Pass, and Lorraine Shippy of Cortez, Colo.; six sons, Alvin and Daniel, both of Grants Pass, and Verlin, Arthur, Phillip and Dallas, all of Marsing ; three stepsons, Merl Eells of Boise, and Don and Douglas Eells of Grants Pass; a stepdaughter, Edna Mae Milburn of Caldwell; a brother, Frances of Brookings, Ore.; two sisters, Anna Sack of Grants Pass and Asora Varner of Crescent City, Calif.; 57 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 11 stepgrandchildren.
