Roberta Gladson

    Roberta A. Gladson, 57, of Nampa, died Thursday May 15, 1997, at her home of natural causes.  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 17, at Persons- Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
    Roberta was born November 19, 1939, at Skawano, Wisconsin, a daughter of Rev. George W. and Gladys Atkins Heppell.  She lived in Wisconsin, then moved to Abbotsford, BC., where she was raised until she graduated from high school.  She came to Nampa in 1957 to attend Northwest Nazarene College and graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.   Roberta moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and worked in the library until 1963.  Roberta then moved to Torrington, Wyoming, where her father was pastoring the Church of the Nazarene.  Roberta married Virgil Gladson Sr. on Dec. 1, 1963, and they moved to Lusk, Wyoming, where Roberta mothered five children.  She attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie to further her education.
    Roberta and Virgil and the younger children came to Nampa in 1977.  She was a manager of Conrad and Madam' Moseille, and also managed her own dress shop.  At the time of her death, Roberta was employed by the Terry Reily Health Clinic in Nampa.
    Roberta is survived by her husband, Virgil William Gladson Sr. of Nampa; a daughter, Valorie Biggs and her husband William (Bob) of Nampa; a son, Sonny (Paul) Gladson and his wife, Darlene of Nyssa, Oregon; a daughter, Judy Armstrong of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; a son, Virgil Gladson Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Arkansas; a son, Robert Gladson and his wife, Shelly of Yoder, Wyoming; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and an aunt.  
    Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Thomas; and a great-granddaughter.
    She will be greatly missed by all those that knew her and especially by her friends and family.  We Love You!!
    Viewing for family and friends will be today until 9 p.m. at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
