Graveside services for
Shirley C. Hughes, 59, Melba, Route 1, who died Friday, Feb.
25, 1983 in a Nampa nursing home after a long illness, will be
conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Melba Cemetery with Bishop
Conrad Zeyer of the Melba Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints officiating. Services are under the
direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
She was born on Dec. 19, 1923 in Melba to Jim and Nan
Hughes. She was reared and educated in Melba and graduated
from Melba High School. She attended the Mercy Hospital
School of Nursing and graduated with a nursing degree. She
moved to San Rafael, Calif., where she worked as a nurse at
Hamilton Air Force Base. It was there she became ill and was
forced to retire.
She is survived by her parents, Jim and Nan Hughes of
Melba; one sister, Carla Pitman of Nampa; one niece, Wendy Nau
of Nampa and one nephew, Stephen Grant of Boise.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to
The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Idaho, 6716 Fairview Ave.,
