CALDWELL - John K. Goebel, 86, Caldwell Route 2, died Monday
at a local hospital.
Services will be conducted Friday at 11 am. at the
Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by the Rev. Gail Davis of the
Treasure Valley Christian Church, of which Mr. Goebel was a
member. Interment will be at Canyon Hill Cemetery.
He was born April 27, 1886 in Wisconsin and moved with his
parents to Wallowa, Ore., at an early age. As a young
man he ran a stock ranch on the Snake River below Hell's
Canyon. He married Verna Haney Oct. 7, 1922 in
Enterprise, Ore. and they continued on at the ranch two years
before moving to a farm in the Wilder community. In 1936
they moved to their present farm in Dixie.
Survivors besides his wife include five daughters, Bonita
Looney of Burns, Ore., Betti Hovee of Parma, Alice Williams of
Wilder, Marciel Sevy of Caldwell, and Phyllis Tuning of
Caldwell; two sisters, Maggie Hetrick and Christina Weathy of
WaIlowa; three brothers, Charles and William Goebel of
Wallowa, and Lawerence Goebel of Oakland. Calif.; 24
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews. |
