Services for Valton Hoffman,
87, of Nampa, who died at home Thursday, Nov. 7, will be
conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel,
Nampa. The Rev. Duane Yoesel and the Rev. Lyle Robinson of
the College Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Interment
will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Mrs. Hoffman was born on Oct. 10, 1898, at Halesburg,
Ala., where she was reared and educated. She married P.E.
Hoffman in 1917 in Henry County, Ala. They made their home in
Grimes, Ala., until 1946, when they moved to Idaho to live
near their children and grandchildren. Mr. Hoffman died in
1962. Following the death of her husband, she continued to
live in Nampa and for the past five years she had lived at the
Sunny Ridge Manor. She was a member of the College Church of
the Nazarene.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Louie and
Mary Hoffman of Nampa; another daughter-in-law, Beverly
Hoffman of Nampa; three sisters, Mrs. W.E. Norrell, Dothan,
Ala., Mrs. Arthur Jacobs and Mrs. Thelma Smith, both of
Columbus, Ga.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Edward
Hoffman in 1977, and two brothers.
