Virgil "Dick" Hill

    Virgil "Dick" L. Hill, 83, of Meridian, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 1996, at his home of natural causes.  
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, at the Chapel of the Chimes, Meridian.  Pastor Clint Henry of Cherry Lane Baptist Church will officiate.  Burial will be at noon at the Wilder Cemetery.
    Virgil was born Jan. 2, 1913, at Lonoke, Arkansas.  He married Hazel Harness in 1941 at Reno, Nv.  They resided in Merced, Ca., until 1973, when they moved to Wilder, Id., to be near their son and family.  They moved to Meridian in 1990 where he remained until his death.  
    He and his stories will be greatly missed.

    He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Hazel; his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Bev Ewing, of Wilder; three grandchildren: Ron and Lisa Ewing, of Wilder; Lori Ewing, of Boise; and Shelly and Dave Parker, of Meridian.  He had six great-grandchildren: Erica, Evonne, Cassie, Justin, D.J. and Jace; and his brother George Hill of Merced, Ca., and sister Clara Brown of Arkansas.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.
    The family requests memorials be sent to the Mercy Hospice Program, 1512 12th Ave. Road, Nampa, Id., 83686.  
    Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of the Chimes, Meridian.
